Your Ex: 11-2.7,
With reference to your letter No.04/3 dated 4th July, 1900, and my reply to Your Excellency's letter dated 18th January, 1902, I have the honour to inform you that I have received instructions from the Secretary of State to report further on the land at Duddell(s) Peak, which is required for the erection of batteries and barracks for the Military as an outlying defence work.
A sketch plan on a scale of 200 feet to an inch is enclosed, shewing within a chain dotted line the extent of the tract of land desired to be obtained for the purpose.
3. As I am informed that the area required, as stated in your letter 16.84/1, has now been surveyed, I shall be glad if you will kindly cause a plan to be sent to me, shewing the nature of the ground so far as it has been surveyed.
